sIn April 1995 under the guidance of the Holy Spirit we opened a mission field in Balugaon, Khurdha District, Odisha and appointed Mr. Ajar Parichha as the first evangelist for LCM in Odisha. Dr. D. B. Hrudaya of the Orissa follow up was instrumental in setting up this work in Odisha.
The late Rt. Rev. Dr. Reuban Senapathi, former Bishop of Cuttack was able to handhold and mentor the evangelist appointed by the mission from time to time. He would visit the villages along with the evangelist and share the gospel of salvation to all the people.
Mr. Kurian a Malayalee family running business would also encourage the evangelist from time to time.
The mission is mainly concentrating in the following districts: Dhenkanal, Nuapada and Angul.
In Dhenkanal District 600 villages are covered. Sunday worship is regularly held regularly in a believers house in Kutinna village, 40 to 50 people come for regular worship regularly come for worship. The evangelists travel in motor bike to visit the villages. Every day the evangelist has to travel about 40 to 50 kilometres to reach a particular village.
In Nuapada, the gospel work was started in the year 2016. Over the year the gospel has reached to 18 villages. After six years of labour, 32 people have accepted Jesus as their personal Saviour. Sunday worship is conducted in evangelist’s house. The evangelists travel in bicycle or bus to reach these villages.
The mission has ventured into Angul district by appointing two evangelists. We started the work at Angul in the year 2018. By the grace of God there are seventeen people who have embraced Christ as their personal saviour. 35 villages are been covered. 15-20 people come for regular worship which takes place in the evangelist house. The two evangelists travel by bike and they cover 20 to 30 kilometres each day.
